Objectives

The main objective of the project Enlargement for All was to inform people with intellectual disabilities in EU countries about the chances and consequences of the Enlargement of the EU. It aimed also at overcoming the information barrier that exists for people with intellectual disabilities and other people who have difficulties to understand information.

Results

To distribute the information to as many people as possible and to fulfil the main objective of the project, the project partners developed several tools:

  • A brochure entitled 'Enlargement of the European Union' written in easy-to-read language and translated to all 11 old EU official languages.
  • A photo exhibition aimed at providing people in the old EU countries with information about the Accession Countries and the life of people with intellectual disabilities there.  The exhibition was available in the 4 project languages.
  • A training pack that contain information in easy-to-read form about the Enlargement of the EU.
  • A website in a format accessible to people with intellectual disabilities
