Registration for the final conference of the research project Children’s Rights for All  is already open!  Inclusion Europe together with Eurochild and Charles University in Prague will launch the European comparative report on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child with a focus in children with intellectual disabilities.

During two days, participants will explore the legal framework underpinning the safeguarding of children with intellectual disabilities and the real implementation of this legislation. They will also tackle sensitive issues such as abuse of or violence against these children, or conciliation between adequate attention to their specific needs and better inclusion in the community by promoting quality healthcare, deinstitutionalisation of support services or inclusive education.

Both organisations and institutional bodies should hear children’s voices and advocate for their rights. Their presence at the conference may lead to better cooperation among the institutional and social actors involved in the protection of the rights of children with intellectual disabilities. Confirmed guest speakers include:  Maria Herczog, Member of the CRC committee & President of Eurochild, Maureen Piggot, President of Inclusion Europe, Richard Howitt, MEP and former-President of the Disability Intergroup of the European Parliament and Roisin Fegan from the Children’s NGO group.

Detailed information on the conference is available in the preliminary program.
