Perspektiva is a Russian member of Inclusion Europe.

Perspektiva is organising a film festival.
A film festival is an event where people show movies.

This film festival is for films about people with disabilities.
Films which were done with help of people with disabilities are particularly welcome.

Perspektiva, Inclusion Europe’s Russian member is calling for submissions to their 6th edition of International Disability Film Festival “Breaking Down Barriers”. The final submission date is July 1st 2012 and the festival will take place between the 22 and 25 of November 2012.

The aim of Perspektiva is to use these films to educate people about a wide variety of disability issues. This is why all films submitted must portray a disability issue. The organisers also encourage the participation of persons with disabilities in the production of the submitted film.

Films may be submitted in any language as long as it comes with English subtitles. Films in Russian do not need subtitles. In the past festivals screened films came from 45 different countries.

Another condition is that the work submitted must have been produced after 1 January 2007. The preferred format is PAL and if selected for screening a DVD PAL version is mandatory

During the first five festivals more than 500 films were screened. Over 10,000 people attended Moscow’s festival and more than 20,000 people in 25 different regions of Russia were present at the regional festivals.  Festivals also took place in Armenia, the Kirgiz Republic, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
